DAY 4 OF 30

God of Miracles

Psalm 85:4 "Restore us again, O God of our salvation, and put away your indignation toward us!"

I love miracles—all sorts of miracles. But do you want to know what my favorite miracle in the gospels is? Out of all the miracles that Jesus did, by far and above my favorite is this one: the second one. If you don’t know, I can explain it.

Remember the feeding of the 5,000? It was a great miracle. But the better miracle was the second time Jesus did it—when He fed the 4,000. And have you heard the miracle where Jesus asked Peter to put his net into the deep after fishing all night and catching nothing (Luke 5)? It was a great miracle indeed. But the even better one was the second time Jesus did the same miracle again in John 21.

Of all the miracles recorded, it’s always the second miracle that I love the most because it’s a reminder that God is always willing to do it again—if He showed up once, He will surely do it again. If He answered your cry for help, He’s willing to do it again. He’s the God of second chances. In Psalm 85:4 we learn of yet another miracle that God is waiting to do in our lives. It's the miracle of a fresh start. It's a miracle of new beginnings. It's the miracle of revival. As you seek God again in this season of your life, ask Him to show up again and again and again, as He has done in the past and has proved to do again!

What miracle are you hoping God will do in your life but feel you don’t deserve? You might be surprised. God might just do it again.

Questions:
