DAY 42 OF 81

EXODUS 23-24:
Yesterday in Exodus we heard laws regarding treatment of slaves, cases of personal injury, protection of private property, and social responsibility.

Job 42:
As we turn to the final chapter of Job, we have heard three chapters of God confronting Job. Today Job gives his final response, and we hear of God’s blessings to him.

Luke 2a:
Yesterday in Luke, Mary visited Elizabeth, and we read Mary's famous song of praise, and later John's father Zechariah prayed an inspired and fully-believing prophetic prayer.

It’s my joy and privilege to start us out in prayer today:
Heavenly Father, our mighty God:
Your name is holy. You have stretched out your arm and done mighty things. Our Lord, you have provided a mighty Savior, and a descendant of David, as you promised. You said that you would save us from our enemies, and the power of those who hate us (and especially Satan). And you have fulfilled your sacred covenant. And You choose, our dear heavenly Father, humble people. You take down the high and mighty, and kings from their thrones, and You lift up the lowly. And so dear Lord, you provided a way for people to be saved. You used your people, Israel, to open that way for everyone. You have shown your mercy for all of us living in the dark shadow of death. Thank you for the bright Morning Star of salvation that has risen upon us— Christ Jesus our Savior. Thank You that through Him we can serve you without fear. Through Him we are made holy and righteous in your sight. And so Lord, we desire to serve You, serve you with all our hearts. Father, I pray for my listener, if he or she is discouraged, under a burden of sin, in trouble, or in need of healing. May you lift up and rescue each one and enable them to find assurance of your blessings today.
