From Beginning to EndSample
The conflict between Jacob and Laban becomes so great that putting distance between them is the only answer. We can see both of them being unreasonable in how they treat each other. They decide to take vows to not harm each other in the future. They ask God to watch over their agreement, because they clearly can’t trust each other.
In Matthew 18:15-20, Jesus describes a process for how we should deal with those who have wronged us. We are to work hard to try and resolve the problem, but sometimes a resolution can’t be reached. People who are not connected in the conflict are part of the process, so reasonable voices can be included in the conversation. Is there conflict between you and another person that should be handled as Jesus has described?

About this Plan
This is part one of a four-part plan to read the books of the Bible that tell of the historical events. Although the Bible contains many stories, it is one story from beginning to end of God’s interactions with humanity. One day per week can be used to catch up on missed readings or for reflection. Notes are also included to assist with understanding.
