Paul’s prayer for us is that we come to understand the vastness of God’s redeeming love. How well do we understand what God has done for us? What is the breadth and length and height and depth of God’s love? Sometimes we catch a glimpse of it, but we should strive to know it more fully and experience it more deeply. This will change us. It will kill our complaining, it will cause us to embrace our circumstances with joy, it will allow us to have praises on our lips during all seasons of life, it will melt our indifference and light in us a fire for God’s word. It will make us show love to others because of the immense love we have been shown.
