The Seven Trumpets - In the Heavenly Temple
Thoughts on the Passage
The place to get things done is in the presence of the King – the person who has the power to make things happen. It is the same in heaven. God’s presence is in His temple. This section begins and ends in the heavenly temple and before His throne. It starts at the altar of incense and ends beyond this altar and in His very presence. What happens here at the altar? Prayer happens. This is a place or requests, supplication, intercession.
First, our prayers are gathered in this place. Never forget this when we think our prayers are not being heard.
Second, our prayers are mixed with heavenly incense. This is saying that God adds to our prayers. Our prayers are not insignificant, but God adds to them as well. Where does this incense come from? We are not told. However, we are told in God’s Word that Jesus is making intercession for us before the Father and that He is doing it continually. That is my understanding of it.
Third, this location of the altar reveals the power of our prayers. They come before God directly. It takes no intermediator to come to Him. God takes the prayers of His children seriously. He allows us to bring them directly, at any time, and His promise is a response. We will see tomorrow the power that is released from the throne of God in response to these prayers.
So take time today and let our prayers reveal our deep needs and desires as His children. He is God – and all authority abides in Him. He is also our Father. So let our prayers express the deep desire of our heart.
Prayer
Father, today I take time and pray. I will pray about the needs of my family, I will pray about the needs of Your people, I will pray for the people around me. I have deep passion for each of them. You know my heart and I take this day to reveal the depth of my heart for them. I desire that they be blessed. I want them to draw near to You today in the same way – knowing that their prayers are just as powerful because You receive them just like You receive mine. Finally, I ask for direction on how to pray. I know that tomorrow we will see the power that is released by our prayers. When our actions impact our world, it causes me to think soberly about how I pray – confident, but soberly as well. So hear the depths of my heart I pray. In Jesus Name. Amen.

About this Plan
There is power in prayer. Let me repeat that – THERE IS POWER IN PRAYER. Specifically, the prayers of God’s children. Do you believe God hears your prayers? Do you believe that your prayers carry power? Plan Five of Revelation illustrates how our prayers impact not only our lives personally, but they release the power of God to move in ways that we could not even think or imagine.
