Teens' Top Questions About the Bible AnsweredSample
How Can I Know that God Really Exists?
The existence of God cannot be proved, so belief in God is a matter of faith (and that faith is given by God). The Bible talks about God and his workings in the lives of his people, but unbelievers can reject that. For example, Psalm 14 says that “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’”
There have been many arguments that people have put forth to try to show that God is real. There is the argument from nature: “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands” (Psalm 19:1). Since the universe has such an amazing design, there must have been a Designer. Another argument claims that because all people share a basic understanding of good and evil, this understanding must have come from a holy God.
No matter how convincing the arguments are, it is faith that allows us to believe in God, and faith is a gift of God through the Holy Spirit.
