DAY 3 OF 5

Be Resolute

ACTION:  Resolve to change your priorities

As I write this devotional in a coffee shop, I am surrounded by people younger than I. Many of them have just completed a walk or jog. Unlike me, they are drinking the latest super-fruit in their health drink. They have on the latest jogging apparel and shoes. They appear trim and healthy because of their dedicated effort. They have made it a priority to work on their physical health. They are beautiful on the outside of the person.  But, it is a great probability that they are quaking within because of fears about their future, the world they live in, and about whether they have the answers for the life they are facing. And of course, there are the dirty secrets that most people try to hide.

If I were to poll these people about their spiritual health, it is a great probability that they have given very little attention to their souls. Many do not know Christ, and if they have come to believe in Him, they make very little effort in getting to know Him better. Why do I know this? It is the condition of the Church in America. We are spiritually anemic, for we haven’t made it our highest priority to know our King in the deepest and nearest way possible.

To allow the changes that God can bring into your life which will create a new man in you, you will have to make it your priority to learn from Jesus. These athletes around me eat right and exercise right. They work on their bodies to make them healthy. It shows, as a result. In the same way, you must eat the good nutrition of God’s word daily and exercise the principles you discover daily by applying them to your life. Before long, you will begin to see the changes to your life that you are hoping for.
