Habakkuk

DAY 3 OF 3

In this final chapter of Habakkuk, we see his response to all God has shown him. We see a picture of what our response should be in our own circumstances. Habakkuk declares his total trust and dependence upon God in all circumstances. Habakkuk understands that even if things look dark for a season, God is ultimately in control. He knows that God's plans for His people can be trusted. Our faith should be the same as Habakkuk’s when he declares that even in loss and suffering he will trust the Lord. We know that the Lord gives us the strength and faith to overcome our circumstances when we take our eyes off of our difficulties and look to Him. That is the key when we walk in the valleys of life. Look to God, and fix your eyes on eternal things not on the temporary struggles of this life. As Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians, these troubles are light and momentary in the long view of eternity. If you are questioning God’s plan and wondering how He can redeem your situation, take heart and trust God with your circumstance. Praise Him in the midst of struggle and remember His plans for you are for your good, even if things seem dark at the moment.

Reflection Questions:

Who is someone you know who has trusted God in difficult circumstances? Does seeing their faith have an impact on your response during trials?

Why can it be difficult to have the same response as Habakkuk?

How does having an eternal perspective make it easier to trust God in difficult circumstances?

Day 2

About this Plan

Habakkuk

We all have questions about God’s plan.  We want to trust God, but sometimes it can be hard to see what God is doing in the midst of our struggles.  This series looks at the life of a man named Habakkuk who looked around at the evil in the world and asked what was to come in God's plan. Then, to his surprise, God responded.
