The Importance Of The Experience: The Survivors Guide

DAY 3 OF 7

How To Endure & Accept

After asking God why and getting over the anger and resentment, I had to understand that I could no longer hold on to that intense feeling of ‘not wanting to forgive anyone’ because of what happened.

I didn’t ask to be molested. I didn’t ask for the memories and hurt that came along with it either. I was only three years old. It could not be undone. And I had to learn that I would have to be at peace with that.

And you do too.

What are you holding on to that God is now challenging you to accept and let go of?

There is one man in particular who poses as a great reminder of endurance and long-suffering. Patience and faithfulness.

God allowed the enemy to wreak havoc in Job’s life. He lost everything. Both his crops and animals died. His children died and he fell sick. I can singlehandedly say, I don’t think I could endure what Job did and still have praise on my lips.

I struggled with giving God what he deserved when dealing with memories I was trying so hard to forget. You know what that feels like too. We all know the scripture “though he slay me, yet will I trust him” because we know in life there will be situations and challenges that we will not want to go through but will have to endure.

Despite the challenging situations Job was in, he never cursed God. Which is why he inspires me! In  Job 1 v 21-22 here we see a man who falls to his knees in worship. Despite the hell Job was in the middle of, he never cursed God! He never lost his sound! Job did not sin with his lips.

He understood the importance of the storm he was in and how the words he spoke, could kill him, or bring him through (Proverbs 18:21).

Whatever God allows to happen don’t be careless with your words. Life and death is in the power of the tongue. Life is about growing from grace to grace. Job understood this and walked in the promises of God. Let your faith remain unshakable as you get ready to walk into a season of remarkable breakthroughs and favour.

About this Plan

The Importance Of The Experience: The Survivors Guide

We live for a God who isn't ashamed of who we are, nor the things we’ve been through. There are some situations that can make you feel that way. So, whether you were abused sexually, physically, emotionally, or mentally this devotional is for you. I was molested for 10 years. But I received healing! I want to help you do the same.
