Running For Your Life

DAY 4 OF 10

Every follower of Jesus will be asked to run in her own lane, down the path that God paved specifically for her. He gives all of us different dreams, hopes, passions, and purpose, and we’re uniquely designed for the path He places us on. Nothing is more frustrating than comparing our race with someone else’s, our struggles or achievements against someone else’s. In God’s Kingdom, the starting line begins at the foot of Jesus’ cross. His death purchased and clothed every runner with grace, mercy, and forgiveness, and now He offers us a life of purpose.

In all of life there is a “letting go” of one thing and a moving forward to “grab hold” of what is next. If we are to run the race God has for us, we must let go of the past and embrace the life God offers. We must let go of comparing ourselves to others and embrace who we are. In Psalm 139, King David wrote, “You (God) created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made” (verse 13-14).  When was the last time you praised God for the way you are made? God has masterfully created you for His purposes. Embrace who you are and where you have been so you can move forward to what is next. You have no idea what God can do if you are willing to surrender to His will.
