Restore: God is restoring dreams

I long assumed that I was naturally lazy. I scraped through school with the bare minimum of exam passes.

Then one day in my twenties, I finally alighted upon what I wanted to do for a living. I came alive; I was motivated and learning new skills. People even started thinking I was quite smart...

It’s a feeling people around the world get when they realize they can escape poverty and make a meaningful living; creating clothes or setting up shop, for instance. When we see that certain dreams really are achievable, we come alive and forge ahead.

God is intertwined with the deepest desires of our hearts: acceptance, intimacy, the chance to live and work meaningfully. He may not answer these desires in the way we would choose for ourselves, but I believe he is in the business of rekindling dreams so that we can refresh our motivations and come back to life.

Dearest God
Lover of my deepest being,
Creator of my deepest desires,
Please rekindle hopes and dreams within me,
The ones that you have truly planted,
That I may have fresh motivation for my life in you.
