Love God Greatly Jamesნიმუში

Read: James 1:12-15
SOAP: James 1:12-15
James reminds us that the person who endures and resists the trial of temptation is richly blessed by God. He reminds us that temptation does not originate from God. Temptation comes from our own desires and passions, the pull of the world, and the manipulation of Satan. Temptation is an unfortunate reality for every believer. But, God faithfully promises a way of escape from every temptation a believer may encounter so that we may endure it.
What temptation are you struggling with today? When faced with temptation believers are to look to Jesus, who remained sinless despite facing every temptation common to man. We deny ourselves, run to Him, and seek diligently His way of escape which is promised and guaranteed. God empowers His followers to say ‘no’ when we want to say ‘yes’.
Father God, I need You every moment of the day. I thank You for Your protection and Your provision during those times when temptation seems unbearable. Give me the willingness and the strength to resist and endure. Lord, make clear Your way of escape. When I stumble and succumb to temptation, remind me that Your grace is greater than my sin. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

But because not one of us is perfect, the proper way to read James is through the lens of the gospel.
