Powerhouse 30 Day Devotional

DAY 3 OF 30

Who Needs Faith?

The dictionary defines faith as ‘complete trust in someone or something’, and I don’t know about you, but when it says ‘complete’, I cower a little. Time and time again I say that I put my faith in God, yet there’s always a part of me that second guesses myself, or holds back a little bit.

In the Bible, Abraham showed complete and utter faith in God. When God asked Abraham to go to a new country, Abraham had faith. When God told him that His descendants would be as many as the stars in the heavens while his wife Sara had no children, Abraham had faith. When everything seemed like too much and was too big for him, Abraham had faith. Without faith, we’d be lost. Abraham’s belief was not overcome by the fact that he was almost 100 years old, but instead he chose to have faith in God that He could do the impossible and that He would stay true to the words He had spoken.

No matter what lies ahead of us that seems too big, know that He has got it. God stays true to His Word as He does time and time again in the Bible and in our everyday life, however we also have to step out and say, “Jesus, I have COMPLETE trust in You that You can do the impossible. I have faith in You”. We’re called to be fearless, and to follow after Jesus. Today is the day! So, do you have faith that He can do the impossible?

Prayer: God, we pray that we would always have faith in You, no matter whether we can see the end result or not. We declare we have full faith in You, and we want to partner with You to see Your Kingdom come. Amen.

About this Plan

Powerhouse 30 Day Devotional

How do we live for Christ? That's a big question, and ultimately we can't figure that one out by ourselves. In order to do so, we have to seek God, live by His Spirit and get to know Him more.  Join with us over these next 30 days as we journey together and learn how to live a life more Christ centred and ways we can become more in love with Jesus.
