Il giorno seguente Giovanni era di nuovo là con due dei suoi discepoli; e fissando lo sguardo su Gesù, che passava, disse: «Ecco l’Agnello di Dio!» I suoi due discepoli, avendolo udito parlare, seguirono Gesù. Gesù, voltatosi, e osservando che lo seguivano, domandò loro: «Che cercate?» Ed essi gli dissero: «Rabbì (che tradotto vuol dire “Maestro”), dove abiti?» Egli rispose loro: «Venite e vedrete». Essi dunque andarono, videro dove abitava e stettero con lui quel giorno. Era circa la decima ora.
