Oswald Chambers: Prayer - A Holy Occupation

DAY 17 OF 30

Think of the things you prayed to God about and tried to hold and, because of His love, He dared not let you hold them and they went. For a time you said, “I asked God to give me bread and He gave me a stone.”; He did not, and you find today He gave you the bread of life.

Some prayers are followed by silence because they are wrong, others because they are bigger than we can understand.

Reflection Questions: What prayers did God answer in a better way than I expected by not giving me exactly what I prayed for? What things might God be withholding from me for my own good and for the good of His kingdom?
