Awakening: How To Follow JesusSýnishorn
OCCUPY TILL I COME
When Jesus arose from the grave and ascended to heaven he left his disciples with instructions that led ordinary fishermen to turn the world upside down. These same instructions resonate through history and Christ declares them to you today; “Occupy till I come.” Make no mistake; Jesus is calling for a takeover. Your Christianity should not be small or silent, but occupy every area of your life and the lives of those around you. You’ve heard people say “If only Jesus never left Earth, things would be so much better”, but Jesus actually said “It is BETTER that I go. Jesus sent his Holy Spirit so that ordinary people could become game changers.
The original disciples occupied their cities, jobs, and communities so thoroughly that they were beaten, mocked, tortured, and murdered because they would not be silent about The Gospel. One time a riot broke out in a city, Jason and the other believers were dragged out before the authorities and accused them as those who “turned the world upside down.” This is what occupying looks like: its not pretty, its not easy, but it is our calling and our mission from God Himself. We are not to be timid about our faith, or scared to speak of our salvation; but instead we must extend love to those who deserve hate, and bring hope to a world lost in hopeless. You can't do this on your own, you need the Holy Spirit of God on the inside of you equipping you to occupy your world until Christ redeems the world.
"Occupy till I come" - Jesus.
I will occupy my city.
