You Have Help From The Holy Spirit
Every day we wake is a gift from God, but with every day comes challenges, struggles, dead ends, frustrations, anxiety, and fear, this is just to list a few things we face daily. It seems we are a people desperately needing help, wouldn’t you agree? Jesus was acutely aware we would need all the help we can get, and he promises to give us a helper. The world has caught on to the fact that everyone needs help and every day we are bombarded with tips, tricks, DIY videos, books, magazines, TV shows all offering the answer to our every need. But, somehow these solutions seem to fall short, and soon we are searching for the next best thing to help us. I have been on the end of this especially in wanting a quick fix to lose weight; I know many of you can identify with this very plight. I have tried many pills, diets, workout plans, and strategies but to no avail. I always end up disappointed and looking for the next quick fix. It’s like a cycle, and I convince myself this time this product will work, or this time I will be more disciplined, or this time I will get the help I need.
If you have been caught in this cycle of failure, I want to encourage you not to give up because you have been given the best help on planet earth and the wonderful thing is this help is not a thing, product or strategy but he is a person. He is the third person of the God-head; he is the Holy Spirit. Most of my life I never understood the Holy Spirit, I was spooked by him because of the many reactions from people in church when they spoke about the Holy Spirit coming and manifesting in corporate meetings. Because of human reactions, I wanted little to do with this Holy Spirit and as you can guess I lived life in a cycle of failure.
As I began pastoring, I soon realized I could not adequately minister to others without the help of the Holy Spirit. My sermons were dry, I had no heart connection to the people, I came home after every service feeling empty, and after a while, I cried out in prayer to the Lord, and he spoke to my heart, he said, “Take the help.” It has been a journey of many ups and downs but through it all, I am comforted by the truth I have a Helper, and I never have to go it alone. Well perhaps you are thinking the Holy Spirit will only help those who are in ministry, but that is not true, the Holy Spirit is our Helper period. He is available to all who believe in Jesus Christ, and he will never leave us, and no matter what area you are struggling in the Helper holds the answer. Will you take the help today?
Holy Spirit I want to know more about you and I need your help!

We all go thru life running on self-effort, and we eventually get to the “pulling out our hair” moments from all that we must deal with daily. However, did you know that our Heavenly Father gave us a helper? This helper supersedes all our natural abilities and once we get to the point of total dependence life becomes easier- “Would you take the help today?”
