Devotions From City HarborSýnishorn
By Molly Reed
In the middle of the night You’re there. When everybody’s giving up, You’re there. When I’m falling, crashing, wondering, asking does anybody out there care? You’ve loved me through my deepest pain. You’re with me on my darkest day, and I’m never alone cause wherever I go, You’re there. You’re there.
Have you ever been in the middle of a hard time and felt like all you could ask God is, ”Where are You?” I know I have. Sometimes it’s hard to continue to trust when we are in the midst of struggle.
“God is our shelter and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not be afraid, even if the earth is shaken and mountains fall into the ocean depths; even if the seas roar and rage, and the hills are shaken by the violence. The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.” - Psalm 36:1-3,7
Throughout the entire Bible, God says that He is with us and that He will never leave. Ever. The other side of this is that not only does He remain with us in every moment of our life, He has been where we’ve been. He knows how we feel.
You’ve been where I''m standing now, you know everything that holds me down. I KNOW that you’re gonna help me through this.
When I am in the middle of pain, all I cling to is His TRUTH. God is not going anywhere. He wants you to know that you can REST. You can trust Him in every area of your life. He will not forsake you. He is the only one who will be with you unconditionally. How comforting is that?
“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” - Romans 8:38-39
