Old And New: Devotions From Time Of Grace MinistrySýnishorn
Christ is our King now
All the prophets of the Old Testament were but forerunners of Christ. All the judges of the Old Testament were but forerunners of Christ. Moses and Joshua and all the kings were merely placeholders until Christ came.
Just before he ascended into heaven, Jesus told his disciples that all authority in heaven and on earth had been given to him. Here is our true leader--one who will never lie to us, abuse us, take advantage of us, or manipulate us. Here is our true leader--one who will protect us, lead us in the right direction, always speak the truth to us, always build us up, make our lives better, give us hope.
St. John shares with you and me his thrilling glimpse of Christ as he appears now: “I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him” (Revelation 19:11-14).
Christ is our King now. Christ is our King forever. He is good to us. We are blessed.
