The Wedding at CanaSýnishorn

A Meaningful Rebuke
When Jesus answers His mother with the words: "Woman, what have you to do with me? My hour has not yet come", a dialogue full of spiritual depth emerges. At first glance, the tone may seem harsh, but Jesus' rebuke is not a sign of contempt, but rather an affirmation of His Divine Role and His obedience to the Will of the Father.
Jesus recognizes in Mary's request a sincere desire: she, image of the Church, awaits with ardent hope that He will reveal His power and begin the mission of Salvation. However, the time established for the definitive fulfillment of His Work – the Sacrifice on the Cross – had not yet come. This refers to the Words of Jesus who states that His Time has not yet come, showing that the calendar of Redemption is in the Hands of the Father, and only He can establish the moments.
The term “woman” is not a sign of detachment, but a respectful and prophetic language, the same one He will use on Calvary, when He will entrust Mary to the beloved disciple. Jesus, in responding in this way, emphasizes that His Mission cannot be accelerated by human expectations, not even those of His mother. It is an invitation to fully trust in His Timing.
This dialogue teaches us that, even with love and sensitivity, God sometimes corrects even our purest desires, reminding us that His Plans are perfect. Mary does not respond with words, but with faith, inviting the servants to do everything Jesus says. This silent response is a model of trusting submission to the Divine Will.
In this verse, we see not only the Humanity of Jesus who responds to a familiar request but also the Divinity of the One who walks according to the perfect plan of the Father, inviting us to do the same.

But this sign goes beyond a simple extraordinary gesture: it speaks of transformation, abundance, and a Joy that only Christ can give. Let yourself be surprised by the profound meaning of this miracle, which still today invites us to trust Him to receive something infinitely better.
