Day 4
Feeling Tired
It can be really frustrating when you are starting out on your journey and you feel sick. At this point you may not feel well or feel like you have the energy to start eating healthy. This is where a lot of people quit or get stuck and say screw it, it’s not working. I get it. Just last night from 7 o’clock until 4 o’clock in the morning, I had an excruciating stomach ache and did not know why. I had to remember there will be days like this. I need to keep journaling and trying different foods to see what works best for my system.
There have been many times I have started out on my journey not feeling well. Struggling with fatigue, inflammation, and digestive issues all the way to constipation. Yes, I said that. Let’s be real here. One of my favorite sayings is, you have to be real to heal. And here is what I have learned and read over and over through the years. No matter if it is physically or emotionally, it is going to take time to heal and feel better. It’s the same with your weight loss results. It’s going to take time and being consistent, in order to see and feel a change.
In the past I have started out on my journey to eat healthy, and then I have one day feeling off, so I go right back to old behaviors. Then the cycle starts all over again. Not feeling well. Wanting change. Eating healthy for a few days. Getting frustrated. Eating whatever. Repeat.
This has been the cycle I have been on for years! Maybe you have, too. Let’s do it differently this time. What if we gave it 90 days? Who knows, maybe on day 90 our bodies will finally start to trust us.
If we truly want to heal and look and feel healthier, we have to be willing to be in this for the long haul. The reason I wrote these devotions is because I know the torment that comes with this pattern of not feeling well and starting over. Even as I write this devotion, I am having crazy faith to believe God for my breakthrough. I am also believing Him for you. I don’t want to suffer anymore. I am ready to start living my life. How about you?
