DAY 4: WORSHIP – THE KEY TO EMBRACING YOUR MISSION

Key verses: Inside the Tent of Meeting, the Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. Afterward Moses would return to the camp, but the young man who assisted him, Joshua son of Nun, would remain behind in the Tent of Meeting. - Exodus 33:11

…At this, Joshua fell with his face to the ground in reverence… - Joshua 5:14

An incredible life. The stuff that legends are made of. He led a military campaign with victories from start to end. What was the secret to Joshua’s able leadership and amazing success?

One big key to his success was that Joshua clearly understood Who had called him and he fully embraced his mission. We may then ask, how did he get to this place? I believe it was because He loved to worship God. Joshua loved honouring and exalting the God of Israel in worship from a young age.

Like Joshua, as we worship, we get to better understand the nature of our commission. As we bow before Him in humble adoration, we catch His heart for the lost and grasp the urgency of the hour. As we pour our hearts before Him, God shows us His purpose and places His call on our lives. Worship truly helps us to embrace our mission.

Many years later, another young man who loved to worship God, came on the scene. David caught God’s heart, priorities and mission as he worshipped. When he met Goliath, he knew at once what his mission was and went on to confidently defeat the giant. In so doing, he fulfilled God’s purpose for his life and the nation of Israel.

Can we make time today to worship God and give Him all our praise, thanksgiving and adoration? Open our hearts to Him and listen to His voice. As we do so, we will catch His heart and embrace our mission with faith, confidence and boldness.
