DAY 12: NOT DONE YET
Key verse: When Joshua was an old man, the Lord said to him, “You are growing old, and much land remains to be conquered. This is the territory that remains..." - Joshua 13:1-2
In Joshua 13, even after defeating 31 kings, God told Joshua that there was still much land to be taken. Imagine that! After so many victories, God was saying, “I’m not done yet.” His strategy was clear – divide up the land, allot portions to each tribe, and have each group take ownership of conquering their part. It wasn’t enough to celebrate past victories; they needed to press on and complete what God had started.
We find ourselves in a similar situation. In Singapore, God has been faithful. About 19% of our population identifies as Christian, which is something to be thankful for. Yet, God is not done. There’s still much "land" to be taken – many more lives to reach, and communities to impact with the love of Christ.
Just as God gave the Israelites specific allotments to conquer, we too have a role to play. Imagine seeing every neighbourhood, every estate, every block and every family experiencing Jesus for themselves and being transformed by Him.
It’s time for us to take ownership of His commission, understanding that every one of us is called to actively participate in advancing His kingdom. Taking ownership means recognizing that the task is not just for church leaders, pastors, or missionaries. Each of us has a unique part of the “land” to claim, whether that’s in our neighbourhoods, workplaces, schools, or families.
The commission is far from complete, and God is calling each of us to rise up and do our part. The harvest is still plentiful (John 4:35) and the good news must reach everyone.
Response
What “land” or area of influence has God entrusted to you where you can take ownership in fulfilling His commission?
In what ways can you step up and actively participate in expanding God’s kingdom, knowing that the mission is not yet complete?

About this Plan
In this 21-day devotional, Commissioned, we’ll explore how God called Joshua to lead His people into the Promised Land—and how He’s calling each of us to step into our own mission. Just like Joshua, we are commissioned by God to advance His purposes, no matter where we are. Over these next 21 days, you’ll be challenged to walk in faith, courage, and obedience, knowing that God goes before you, equips you, and strengthens you for every battle ahead. Prepare to reflect on your calling and the impact God wants to make through your life.
