Fear Is Not My Future | 21 Days of Prayer and FastingSýnishorn
Are you so committed to Christ and the gospel that attracts persecution around you? Please keep this question in mind as you go into this devotional today.
In this passage, Jesus was preparing His Disciples for future persecution. He told them that it was going to begin with Him and that when it happens, they will all be scattered, leaving Him alone (John 16:33). He assured them that they should expect persecution because they believe in him and the gospel. This persecution will not only happen to them alone but will happen to all who will later believe in Him. Suffering for Christ and the gospel is a big part of what all believers must face. Paul the Apostle made this clear to the Philippians and Timothy, his son in the Lord, that all believers in Christ will be persecuted (Philippians 1:29 and 2 Timothy 3:12). Since persecution is inevitable, what should we do as believers? We should prepare for it just as Jesus and Paul encouraged the early Disciples to do. But how do we prepare for it?
Pray a prayer of TOTAL SURRENDER TO JESUS.
Study the Bible with an open HEART and be OBEDIENT.
Be a MEMBER of a local church that has a Spirit-filled pastor or pastors.
Find at least TWO to THREE friends you can meet once a week to encourage one another.
Discover your spiritual gifts and use them in and outside the church. Be BOLD FOR CHRIST AND BE HIS LOYAL AMBASSADOR.
If you desire to live a life that will attract people to Christ as well as attract the enemies of Christ to persecute you, then find time ALONE with Jesus and pray this DEDICATION and PLEDGE YOUR TOTAL LOYALTY TO CHRIST.
Lord, help me to be loyal to you and your gospel, ALWAY. In the mighty NAME OF JESUS CHRIST: Amen.
