DAY 1 OF 5

Day 1: Redefining Leadership

Leadership is often associated with having a title, a position of power, or a prestigious role. While these things can indeed be characteristics of a leader, the Bible demonstrates how leadership is more about the impact we have on the lives around us.

Jesus Himself demonstrated a countercultural form of leadership: He did not seek earthly power but led through love, service, and humility (Matthew 20:25-28). His daily actions—healing, listening, serving—deeply and radically influenced those who followed Him. His life teaches us that leadership is more about impact than position.

Similar to Jesus, we are called to be the light of the world (Matthew 5:14-16). Even if we do not hold high-level roles, the way we live can influence those around us. Think of small acts of kindness, words of encouragement, or patience shown in stressful moments. All of these things affect our environment, transforming the lives of others, just as Jesus did in His daily encounters.

Reflective Question: How can you use your daily influence to be a light and a blessing to those around you?

Prayer: Lord, help me understand that true leadership is not about power, but about serving others with humility and love. Like Jesus, teach me and help me influence the world around me through small acts of kindness and love, reflecting Your light wherever I go. Amen.
