Horizon Church November Bible Reading Plan: A Call to Holiness - 1 & 2 Corinthians

DAY 1 OF 30

The apostle Paul's letter to the Corinthians addresses a divided and morally compromised church in the city of Corinth. Known for its vibrant trade, Corinth was also notorious for its immorality, and many in the church struggled to break free from the surrounding culture. Paul writes to correct these issues and bring the church back to unity and holiness in Christ.

Throughout 1 Corinthians, Paul addresses several key themes. He calls for unity among believers, warning against factions and disputes that tear the body of Christ apart. He also tackles moral issues like sexual immorality, idolatry, and lawsuits among Christians, urging the church to live in purity and obedience to God's commands. At the heart of the letter is the message of love, culminating in the famous "love chapter" (1 Corinthians 13), where Paul defines love as the highest virtue.
