RENEW YOUR MIND
Nowadays a huge quantity of information has been spreading globally due to quick access to the internet. Unfortunately, not everything that is disseminated is good, secure or hopeful. Despite this, there is a way to remain steadfast with a heart full of hope.
God created you in a special way with three dimensions: spirit, soul, and body. Your spirit, enlivened by Jesus, is meant for you to connect with God. Your soul is the seat of emotions, thoughts, and will. And your body is the dwelling place of your spirit, your soul, and the Holy Spirit, which you received through the new birth.
In order for you to stand firm in hope, it is important that you renew your mind with the truth of God's Word. In this way, you will be strengthened to maintain the balance between your spirit, your soul, and your body.
Once, David prayed: "Put me on trial, Lord, and cross-examine me. Test my motives and my heart. For I am always aware of your unfailing love, and I have lived according to your truth" (Psalm 26:2-3). This attitude of David shows a desire to have his mind and heart deeply influenced and approved by God. David wanted to ensure that God's love and truth would fill the depths of his being.
Similarly, when you seek God through the Word and prayer, your mind receives the influence and benefits that come from above, directly from the heart of God. As a result, your spirit is strengthened with truth and communicates with your mind what deceitful thoughts need to be transformed. The apostle Paul described this process as follows: "Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect" (Romans 12:2).
When you renew your mind in God's Word, negative thoughts are removed. Your faith is strengthened, and your hope is activated in the certainty that God loves you, has plans for your life, and will never abandon you. This way, you guard your heart and prepare yourself to receive the blessings that God already has in store for you.
