But What if God Does?Sýnishorn
And what if God wants to heal you?
Do you know everything a leper suffered? Humiliation. Rejection. Shame. His disease didn't allow him to get close to anyone and enjoy their company, and he knew it, that's why he kneels before Jesus and says: "If you want..." This "if you want" carries with it affliction and much rejection but at the same time a firm certainty that someone much more powerful than his disease is in front of him.
He knew that Jesus could heal him. This was known because he sought Jesus and knelt before Him. But, would He want to? Many times we know that God is powerful, and we also know that He can do all things, but when it comes to a special touch for us, we ask ourselves: Does He really want this? Am I that important and special? Notice that in verse 1 it says that many people followed him.
For God, you are so important, that when you ask for something, be it healing or freedom, that request was already in God's heart before it was in your mouth (1 Corinthians 2:9).
He is more powerful than your disease and much more powerful than any emotional wound. He can and wants to heal you. "Yes, I want to!" "Heal now" were the words of Jesus. What if God wants to heal you? What if God wants you to ask about that desire you have? What if God wants to show you His goodness? He does want to! Would you dare to say that prayer? (Philippians 4:6).
