Look Up, Girl!Sýnishorn
You’re A Power House, Girl!
Why are my hands shaking? Why does this feeling of weakness—physical, mental, emotional—keep coming back to haunt me? My mind wanders away to a place where I worry about things I can’t control. Then the guilt of getting off track only makes me feel worse. The problem is that I’m only human, just a little flesh and blood that can fail at a moment’s notice. My body is tired, my nerves are frayed, and my future feels so uncertain.
Then I remember that God is my strength! When I surrender to the fact that I am in Him and He is in me, the weight of my burden is lightened and I can exhale. The same Hands eternally etched with nail scars are also soft, gentle, and quick to remove the hard yoke I place on myself. The Voice that spoke Light into existence and separated the Darkness from it is the same Still and Small Voice that speaks to me in my loneliest hour. His Eyes see through me and He understands me with a Sweet Mercy that I don’t deserve.
It gives me hope that Jesus is the Author of today, tomorrow, and Eternity. He designed me out of a bit of dust that He lovingly breathed life into, knowing that it would never hold up on its own. When will I realize that I am simply never going to be enough without Him—and that was the plan all along!
Our lives are fragile and fleeting. We need strength beyond our own limited capabilities. We don’t have the might to survive this world—apart from God. But take heart, my sister, Jesus has overcome the world! The Joy of the Lord is your strength. Alone you can do nothing, but the moment you praise Him in your weakness, you give Him permission to make all things possible.
When we are at our weakest and lowest, God’s Supernatural Power is at its best.
Question
Do you find yourself relying on your human strength more than your Spiritual Strength? In what way can you multiply your power?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, sometimes I don’t even know why I’m afraid, but I am. Remind me that I can do only so much in my own strength, but with You, my weakness be comes my superpower. In You, there are no limits. In You, there is only Light. Help me to live in that Light every day and every night. Amen.
