Biblically Navigating Finances in Uncertain TimesSýnishorn
Hey Friend,
Today we’re going to be discussing something that is absolute foolishness to the world.
But remember, in God’s economy, everything works different.
And often, it is the exact opposite of the world.
So when the world faces financial uncertainty, they hoard.
So when money is tight, our natural instinct might be to hold on tighter to what we have.
But in God’s Kingdom, we are encouraged to scatter:
Proverbs 11:24 NKJV puts it like this:
"There is one who scatters, yet increases more; And there is one who withholds more than is right, But it leads to poverty.”
This principle of giving first to God, even in times of scarcity, is echoed in Malachi 3:10:
"'Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,' says the Lord Almighty, 'and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.'"
When we give, especially when it doesn’t make sense, it realigns our hearts and reminds us that everything we have comes from God.
And when we give, we declare our trust in His provision.
As you navigate financial uncertainty in your life, hold onto the promise in 2 Corinthians 9:8: "And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work."
So today, let’s prayerfully consider how we can honor God with our resources, even if we are in challenging times.
Can we set aside a small amount to give? Can we volunteer our skills to help someone else? Anything else come to mind?
Remember, generosity isn't about the size of the gift, but the size of our faith.
God’s got you friend!!
