Today Is a Verb: Open the Gift of NowSýnishorn
Let Us Rejoice
What an absolute breathtaking, too-good-to-be-true wonder is found in Psalm 118:24! God has designed this distinct day especially for you; this unique piece of time holds one primary and compelling assignment. He has exclusively established this twenty-four-hour period with one singular and dynamic activity outlined in His wise mind.
In the hallways of eternity past, God incorporated a vital principle into His created blueprint labeled “Building a Life of Unmatched Abundance.” As God considered all the activities that could be assigned to His dear children, this one is of the utmost importance. Absolutely nothing else trumps it.
As God considered our earthly existence, He knew there would be times when we would be desperate for the reality of delivering heaven’s glory to earth’s pain. He also knew this resplendent pattern of rejoicing daily would gird human life with an uncommon strength and an inexpressible joy.
God, the creator of all that is valuable and good, longs for you to lace this day with a liberal dose of praise that deliberately rises from the depths of your soul. He is intent on hearing your song arise from the fierce fires in life and hearing you outsing every ferocious storm. The Father knows what is best for you and has placed His best plans for you on the sacred pages of Scripture. His best plan for you is to rejoice today and every day.
Many folks wander through life wondering what God’s will might be for their incomparable yet unremarkable existence. These searching people somehow believe God’s will is a hidden mystery that eludes a conclusive realization.
My friend, if you desire the assurance that you are participating in God’s exact will for your life, it is vital to start your day with praise, then fill it to overflowing with worship and heartily end it with thanksgiving. Every day that is graciously loaned to you by the Lord presents a memorable opportunity to manage your day with praise.
Meaningful Moment
Today, take the time to slow down and sing a song of praise. Sing in the shower or sing on your daily walk. Let the Lord hear your voice even though it might just sound like a joyful noise to you.
Daily Declaration
“I declare that I will turn every day into a day of irrepressible rejoicing!”

About this Plan
Sometimes, days seem to pass by with little importance; at other times, we might feel overwhelmed by our experiences. But what if we intentionally view each today as a gift from God? What if we considered today as a verb, an action that we can use right now? Carol McLeod asks us to grab hold of God’s endless gift of time and make the most of every moment.
