Reading With the People of God - #6 LOVESýnishorn
Memorization Challenge: 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Reading Primer: God's Word is vast and for all.
I often find it surprising when people claim, “The Bible isn’t relevant” or “The Bible doesn’t apply to today’s times.” This perspective catches me off guard because when you truly immerse yourself in God’s Word and take the time to understand what you’re reading, it becomes clear that the Bible was relevant in the past, is relevant in the present, and will remain relevant in the future. The enduring nature of Scripture speaks to people across centuries and cultures.
While some passages in our reading today can be challenging to comprehend, particularly if you’re unfamiliar with the historical context, a little research and thoughtful reflection can reveal profound insights. The Bible’s teachings are timeless, offering wisdom and guidance to every generation. These truths are as beneficial today as they were when originally written, providing a foundation for living a life aligned with God’s will. May your day be encouraged by the words of our heavenly Father.

About this Plan
This is the sixth part of a reading plan through the Bible, following the lectionary pattern of reading in the Psalms, Old Testament, and New Testament each day. In addition, each day this month will feature a memorization challenge for 1 Corinthians 13 (The Love Chapter), and there will be brief devotionals from different people in our Church scattered throughout the plan.
