Prayers for Those That Don't Know Jesus

DAY 2 OF 5

Day 2: For minds to be clear

The god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

2 Corinthians 4:4

While we acknowledge that there are a number of reasons someone may not come to faith in Christ, today we’re going to ask for minds to be clear in their understanding of Jesus. In 2 Corinthians 4:1-6 Paul contrasts two ways to approach life.

He acknowledges the importance of believers leading lives in the open. Things that are shameful are renounced, the Word of God is taught with respect and honor and every effort is made to live without anything to hide.

But Paul points out that even when Christians live above reproach, those apart from Christ may not believe because they are blinded by the “god of this age.” So we need to recognize that sometimes unbelievers do not believe because they cannot see clearly. Their minds are clouded.

We are reminded that there is an enemy of our souls and he seeks to prevent people from understanding clearly who Jesus is and what he has done for us.

So as we consider those in our life and around the world who are without Christ, we can pray that they will not allow themselves to be blinded for any reason but seek the truth. We can pray that Jesus will become so unmistakably clear to them that they will not let anything prevent them from submitting to him as Lord and Savior.

About this Plan

Prayers for Those That Don't Know Jesus

This five-day devotional uses a scriptural foundation to focus on praying for those who do not know Jesus. If we are intentional and consistent in praying, we will see many people open their hearts to Jesus.
