The Purpose of Jesus’ Miracles
Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. John 20:30-31 (ESV).
The miracles recorded in the Gospel of John serve a greater purpose than just displaying Jesus’ power. They are signs that point to His true identity as the Christ, the Son of God. These miracles are intended to lead us to faith in Jesus, and through that faith, to receive the life that He offers.
As you begin this devotional, let your heart be open to the deeper meaning behind each miracle, recognizing that they are given to strengthen your belief and draw you closer to eternal life in Christ.
How do the miracles of Jesus deepen your understanding of His identity and strengthen your faith in Him?
Prayer: Father God, Thank You for the miracles that reveal Jesus as Your Son and our Savior. As I reflect on these signs, deepen my faith and help me to experience the fullness of life that comes through believing in Him. In Jesus name, Amen.
