Cultivate and Keep

Titus 1:5
For this reason I left you in Crete, that you would set in order what remains and appoint elders in every city as I directed you,

Paul begins by instructing Titus to appoint elders who can cultivate the church's spiritual health. These elders must be blameless, faithful, and self-controlled, setting a strong example for others.

Titus 2:1-2
But as for you, proclaim the things which are fitting for sound doctrine. 2 Older men are to be temperate, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, in perseverance.

In chapter 2, Paul continues by emphasizing the need to teach sound doctrine to different groups within the church. Older men, older women, younger women, and younger men all have specific roles and qualities to cultivate, contributing to a healthy and vibrant church community.

Titus 3:1-2
Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed, 2 to slander no one, not to be contentious, to be gentle, showing every consideration for all people.

Titus 3:8
