Day Three
A Prayer to Cultivate a Godly Family for Kingdom Impact with Minister She’Londa Adams
My God, I thank You for Your word. Deuteronomy 6:5-7 tells us to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and might. However, we need the Holy Spirit to show us how to love You more deeply in the middle of everything that competes for our hearts’ affection. My God, remove the distractions that come to tear my family apart and help me to follow You and Your Word with greater discipline every day. Your Word continues to tell me to teach my children about You, but sometimes I feel so incapable. Embolden me to believe that You will give the right words when I need them so that I may speak exactly what my children need to hear. Show me how to be quick to listen and slow to speak and instill Your wisdom on my lips.
Lord, I know that I can model a loving relationship with others when I learn to love You and grow in Your ways. Please renew my mind so that I can begin to model Your ways to my children. I know I can use every situation as an opportunity to tell of Your ways and Your goodness. Show me how to talk about them when we’re sitting at the dinner table, driving in the car, or going for a walk in the park. As you do, help them engage in conversation with me as well.
I know that those who fear You and obey Your word are blessed, so I bring that Word back to Your memory and ask that You show up in my family’s life as we learn to obey You more each day. I pray that my children will understand that You have answered their prayers as they learn to give You the glory. Transform their conversations, interactions, friendships, pursuits, and desires.
I’m seeking Your salvation and wisdom for my family, Father, and I thank You for the impact You will lead us to make on this earth. Be with me as I study and learn Your word, and encourage my heart as I look to encourage my family. In Jesus name, Amen.
