Provision & Resources
Devotional:
By Rich Romero, Generation Church, Coral Gables, FL
Did God call you and your family to plant a church? If the answer is "yes," you'll see God's faithfulness in ways you've never seen before. I had always heard the phrase, "Where God guides, He provides!" It wasn't until I stepped out in faith toward the God-sized dream within me that I saw this familiar phrase become my experience. The apostle Paul's letter to the church of Philippi established this truth - God is trustworthy. Trust in Him to provide whatever it is. He is the great "I am." This means that whatever you need, He is faithful to provide for His glory. You may need strength, finances, favor, or a venue in the city He's called you to. Accept the invitation to trust in Jehovah Jireh, your provider. Remember this: If God called you to plant a life-giving church, He's responsible for it. He's going to fund it, grace it, and anoint it. Our job is to steward it. Strategy is our due diligence but not our dependence. We depend on Jesus and Him alone. He is our source.
Application:
Strategize with faith and operate daily with the understanding that God is your source. If your launch budget and financial goals seem easy to reach, then it’s time to stretch your faith.
Meditation:
As you pray and meditate, focus on these three things: Divine Strategy (Proverbs 3:5-6), Divine Provision (Matthew 6:33), and Divine Connections (Acts 2:43-47). Imagine people saying yes to the vision God has given you. Meditate on the image of your heavenly Father eagerly providing all that you need to prosper as a church planter.
Closing Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I come before you today, knowing you are my provider. Where you guide, you always provide. I place my trust solely in you. Everything I need is found in you. I pray you release heavenly strategy as we prepare to launch this church. I pray you release divine provision for us to steward. I pray you grant us favor in this region with people to partner with. Father, establish your kingdom in this city. Thank you, Jesus, for choosing me. It's in your name, I pray. Amen.
