Connecting With God: A 5 Day DevotionalSýnishorn
There is nothing God will say to you that will go against His word (the Bible) and His nature, outlined in the Word. That’s why you need to read your Bible daily and know what God says in His word.
The Bible is God's whole counsel. It is a collection of His thoughts and will, and it is filled with His promises to us. It is Spirit and life and has the power to change your life for the better. Coupled with prayer, the Bible is an essential aspect of your spiritual growth.
The Bible, sometimes referred to as ‘the word of God,’ informs us of who God is, His nature, and His heart toward us. It instructs us on how to live our lives as Christians. It is the final authority over our lives, and it outlines God's standard for us.
In addition, the word encourages and empowers us.
Before you read the Bible, pray and ask the Lord to enlighten you. Ask Him to help you understand how His word applies to you and your current situation. Invite the Holy Spirit to guide you as you read. The Holy Spirit is a helper and leads us into truth, so ask Him to speak to you about what you’re reading.
Let's Pray
Lord, give me a revelation of who You are as I read Your word. Give me the grace to apply what I read to become more like You. Amen.
