DAY 1 OF 3

Throne Throng

I originally made the painting, “Throne Throng” for Seed Company, a Bible translation organization. It's over six feet wide by three feet tall (200cm x 90cm). It conveys the mix of nations that will be part of the ingathering of Christ believers at the Throne of God.

It's an imaginative take, though Scripture tells us that what is waiting for the believer in the next life is, in fact, beyond any imagining. We do know that God will be glorified and, incredibly, so will we. We also know that the gathering will include members of every language and tribe and nation.

The instruction of Jesus to his followers as he left this earth was to take his message everywhere. Efforts to obey this command have grown over the centuries through evangelism, missions and Bible translation to the point that the Word of God is now available in nearly all the world's 6000-plus languages. While people of major cultures often are too busy and preoccupied with the cares of this life, many among the minorities are responding to the Lord's invitation. Or at least they can, as the invitation is now in their language.

“Throne Throng” attempts to capture the completion of all things described by John as he recorded his vision at the end of time: “After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.

“A number no one could count . . . ” But God, who knows the number of hairs on every head and how many grains of sand are on the earth knows the final number. And speaking of sands, those in the hour glass of time are filling up. The last ones are likely very soon. The throng before the Lord will be full.

About this Plan

Throne Throng by Hyatt Moore

At the Last Day, all tribes will be gathered before the throne of God. One painting cannot convey all that Revelation describes, but God's generous inclusion is a major part of it. Each devotional will focus on an aspect of the Last Day.
