Born Again?

DAY 3 OF 6

A family of love

When I was in college, we played against a soccer team way up in Duluth, Minnesota. One year we took the four-hour bus ride from my college town to Duluth only to get demolished in front of zero of our fans. It was too far from home for them to travel. Actually, there was one fan. I didn’t see him until the game had already started. It was my dad. He had driven five hours from Green Bay to Duluth and was about to drive five hours back after watching me play an hour and a half of soccer. That’s a lot of driving to see some not-so-good soccer. Why did my dad do it? Because I was born into a family of love.

If you have been born again, you were too. You may or may not have rock star parents like mine, but every Christian has a Father in heaven who is bursting with love for all his children. Your life may be as unimpressive as my performance that day in Duluth, but your Father still shows up to see you, support you, and be with you. And Jesus has promised that he will never leave you nor forsake you. The Holy Spirit has made your body his temple, the place where he lives to guide you through life.

How sweet it is to be born again! “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” (1 John 3:1).

About this Plan

Born Again?

Some of us doubt our place in God’s family because we feel weak or struggle with the same sin year after year, but that doesn’t deny the evidence of true faith. Do you regret your sin? Do you believe Jesus died for you too? Then take heart! You have been born again!
