3 Strategies When Troubles Pile OnSýnishorn
STRATEGY #3
Now here comes the tricky part. Keep going! If you don’t see results right away, be patient and keep speaking the Word. Lather, rinse, repeat until you see your answer.
Remember how James 1:2 told us to count it all joy when we fall into various temptations and trials? Well, James goes on to show us the result of doing that: knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. And let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing (James1: 3-4).
Do you want to be perfect and complete, lacking nothing? Then count it joy in the midst of trials -- not because of the trial, but because you’re going to come out on top and because it develops your patience. Patience helps you to keep going!
Don’t be moved by what things look like. Second Corinthians 5:7 says, We walk by faith, not by sight. Hebrews 12:1 tell us to run with endurance the race that is set before us. Merriam Webster’s dictionary defines endurance as: “the ability to withstand hardship or adversity especially : the ability to sustain a prolonged stressful effort or activity.”
Hebrews 10:36 says, You have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise. Do you want to receive the promise? Determine to endure! You have the Greater One in you (1 John 4:4) and all the power of heaven backing you. You can do it!
I have had the privilege of interviewing many great men and women of God who have been in ministry for years and years and have influenced millions of lives for the Gospel. Among other questions, I always ask them, “What’s your secret to longevity in the ministry?”
Because let’s face it, not everyone keeps going when trouble comes or when the pressure is unbearable. And these people have walked through intense fire and trouble, trust me – everyone has. No one escapes life’s troubles. But they’re still going. What’s their secret? To a person, they have always said something like, “I just refused to quit.”
And there you have it. Just don’t quit. Keep going. Have patience and endure. Hold fast to the Word of God until you see your answer. God’s Word has never failed in thousands of years – it won’t fail now.
I believe if you’ll stick with these 3 strategies, you’ll see God work on your stack of troubles in a mighty way and you’ll come out on top with the victory and a wonderful testimony to share!
