Heroes, or Witnesses of FaithSýnishorn
You…
“As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in Him will never be put to shame”’ (Romans 10:11).
You might envy those clear words believers received from God in the Bible. It could be beneficial in times of uncertainty to give yourself the opportunity to look back and consider: At what moments in my life did I experience God's guidance clearly, and what helped me then? Living with God is not about going down a straight path with a clear view ahead.
Abraham faced famine in the land God had shown him; David had to flee frequently; Peter denied Jesus; Paul struggled with his weakness; Mary must have felt lonely at times. The power of these believers was faith in God and the experience that He is who He says He is, and that He is true to His promises. The testimony of others can help you to keep trusting God. And your testimony is, in turn, an encouragement to others. Believers are not tough heroes but witnesses to what God's power accomplishes. God does not use heroes, but believing witnesses.
Read Hebrews 11 and discover what made believers persevere throughout the ages.
