The Reconstruction of a Virtuous Woman

DAY 2 OF 3

Day 2: God’s Craftsmanship Was… and Still Is Me!

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful,

I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.

Psalm 139:13–15 (NIV)

I always say if you have questions about you, go to the source! If you want to know why you were created, ask the Creator Himself. When I was in the pits back in 2013, I remember asking him, “Why was I created?” His answer was simple and true to who I am. He said, “I need another creative like me.” I laughed it off, but that was indeed who I am. Whether seen or unseen, I have created a lot of ideas in my lifetime. At a younger age, I was fascinated with movies and music videos. I always said I wanted to be the female version of Hype Williams. I wrote screenplays. I assisted in live productions. I was that girl! However, during that time, I wasn’t creating anything. I was simply going to work and existing. I lived for the weekends and partied all the time. It got to a point where I was unrecognizable to myself.

I also felt guilty of being born out of wedlock. I thought God liked me but did not fully love me because I didn’t enter the way He intended me to. I still sometimes feel that way with my daughter being born the same way. However, reading this scripture showed that I was crafted out of love. God knew everything about me and still deemed that I would enter this earth. It was the understanding that God, in His grace, took an interest in me before I was even born that transformed my thinking and revelation about this issue. My feelings were not accurate. The truth is that God loves me no less than He would if I were born within the confines of marriage. Grace causes Him to continue to pursue me, and I continue to have the desire for Him. Nothing about me is hidden from Him. God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. He has all the answers about us. Your DNA is wrapped in the lineage of the most royal priesthood. So what better way of rediscovering yourself than by asking the Creator himself?

Journal Prompt:

What are some questions that you want to ask God about yourself?

Virtuous Prayer:

Father God, thank you for making everyone reading this beautiful and unique, crafted to be fearfully and wonderfully made. Lord, I thank you for making us so different because in everyone, there is a God-given gift that was strictly designed just for them. I pray that you reveal it to them and they know they are here for a reason. May we all confess God’s craftsmanship was…and still is me!
