Am I Important to Someone?Sýnishorn
Do I matter to this world? I believe that we all have this question present on a daily basis, even though from different points of view. Sometimes, we feel like we have to do something or prove in some way that we are important. But I believe that the answer to this question would fall short.
Yes, because the answer we really need is resolved in another question.
Am I important to God?
The answer goes beyond a simple "yes." You are more than important to God, and you have great value to Him, no matter how much or how little you do.
All your worth is in Him. Imagine Ehud. He has everything to gain, but he is left-handed. Being left-handed at that time was not like it is now. At that time, these people were called "impeded of the right hand." In fact, Ehud comes from a tribe called "son of the right hand," but he cannot use his right hand.
The fact that the Bible highlights that he was left-handed is of great importance, because thanks to this, this story will have an important ending.
Ehud's story was quite strong, no one wanted him, he was rejected, and perhaps he wondered:
Am I important to this world?
Well, no, he wasn't, but for God, he would occupy a place of honor and an important role in history. It was unlikely that he would be chosen, but God had preserved him for this moment.
For God, you are like that. Maybe this world says that it does not need you and that to be important, you should be doing something, but God thinks very differently.
He does not see you as a person who should have a skill or a fulfilled purpose (although you do), but He sees you. He loves you because He knows you are going to do something beautiful. He loves you because what you do now also has great value, even if it's just resting. Because God cares for you, He loves you, your value goes beyond that moment of prominence, goes beyond that historical event. It is an intense value which says I love you, you are in my arms, and everything is fine.
If you are important to the world, that's fine, but if you are not, that's fine too, because what truly has meaning is your value before God.
Take away the burden of wanting to be approved by others, of feeling loved or accepted. You are already fine, you have everything in Christ, and He already has your story written, even though "it seems that you are impeded of the right hand," the most important right hand is God's, and His powerful right hand sustains you.
About this Plan
"Who matters to?" is a question we all must answer at some point. However, the answer lies within another question, so when this world challenges us to answer, God already has an answer waiting.
