Why God Removes PeopleSýnishorn
Day 5: A Desire for Mentorship
Sometimes we resist the counsel of the Holy Spirit because we have a deep desire to be mentored or guided by man.
Sometimes God will allow a relationship like this, but that desire and connection should never be greater than our desire for the help of the Holy Spirit.
We often want man to do the things that God desperately wants to do in our lives.
Though we may esteem someone to be mature and full of wisdom, God knows everything. He knows what you need in each season, and He knows what you do not need. He knows the things and the people who will lead you astray from Him, and He aims to protect you from the wrong impartations. Not only does He want to protect us, but He also wants to teach us all things.
The Holy Spirit wants to mentor you more than the person who you wish would mentor you.
Stop waiting for them to call you and start calling up the Holy Spirit!
This is the power of influence: The person you spend the most time with will be the person you act like the most.
I make it a priority to spend the most time with Jesus because that is who I want to sound like. I spend time praying, studying, and walking with God so that I begin to think and act like Him.
Spend time with the Holy Spirit—morning, noon, and night—and you will gain the discipleship you are looking for. You will receive the wisdom and the heart of the Father and find yourself so confident in your walk with Christ.
Reflect:
The Holy Spirit is the best teacher and leader. If you ask Him, He will set up a whole curriculum for you. He may lead you to study certain scriptures for a certain time frame, or He may reveal pivotal things to you in prayer. He could bring someone new to you every day for ten days to reveal something to you, or He could impart healing or wisdom to you divinely! The Holy Spirit knows exactly what you need. So, I challenge you to simply ask Him to be your mentor!
Just make sure that you are ready to heed His instructions!
