Remember WhenSýnishorn
Want an easy-to-remember way to read and study the Bible? No matter which passage of Scripture you're reading, ask yourself these three questions: "What?" "So What?" "Now What?" We'll show you how!
WHAT? What is this passage about?
This passage was written many generations before Jesus was born. What kind of oppression did the original readers need to be rescued from?
SO WHAT? Why does it matter?
- How might it have felt to wait so long for a savior? Why do you think it matters to you that people waited years for Jesus to show up?
- What kind of experiences were true of people in Isaiah's time that still seem true today?
NOW WHAT? What should I do about it?
- When have you waited a long time for Jesus to intervene or act in a situation? Describe how that felt during the waiting and in the moment God stepped in.
- Is there an oppression or wrong you wish Jesus would fix right now? What is it?
- What would it look like for you to trust in Jesus as a savior who has both come and is still to come?
