Satan’s Deception

DAY 5 OF 5

God’s Declaration of Love

In the Garden of Eden, immediately after Adam and Eve turned from God in distrust and became trapped in the darkness of sin’s shame, separation, and fear, God lifted His voice against Satan (the serpent) and promised that a Redeemer would come to restore fallen humanity to its rightful place with Him (Genesis 3:15).

Satan’s deception dealt a death blow to humanity. However, the enemy did not anticipate God’s immense love for His creation, nor His redemptive plan that offers us hope and dignity.

The story of redemption unveils the Creator’s love in action. It is God’s big picture. To understand redemption is to glimpse into the heart of God. The gospel, the power of God’s salvation, is the only message Christ gave the Church to proclaim. The facts of redemption express what Jesus accomplished on the cross, reveal why He needed to sacrifice His life on our behalf, and disclose who we are as human beings because of God’s redemptive action.

Comprehending the truth of redemption yields an unwavering confidence in God. Embracing its principles stabilizes and vitalizes the believer’s thinking. Putting them into practice in daily living validates our witness of Christ in our world. Redemption covers God’s intervention to reconcile us to Himself in Christ and enables us to represent Him to others. This new creation miracle is only made possible through Jesus’ work.

The gospel of redemption produces assurance in the believer’s personal value to God, knowledge of God, relationship with God, power and authority over Satan, and divine purpose in God’s Kingdom.

The gospel of redemption is the good news that everyone can believe in Jesus Christ as Redeemer and Lord and begin living His victorious lifestyle. For all who believe, redemption is a present reality, and Satan is already defeated. Christ’s victory is our victory, and His righteousness is now ours.

Jesus, thank You for defeating Satan and uncovering his deceptive schemes in my life. Help me to live a life that represents You well.

About this Plan

Satan’s Deception

The third chapter of Genesis exposes Satan’s scheme to thwart God’s original design for humanity in relationship to Himself and to the rest of creation. Satan’s deception marked the beginning of human suffering. This five-day meditation will help you discover how God has provided for the restoration of that original relationship He intended to have with His children.
