Jesus Is

DAY 1 OF 7

Jesus is Human

One of the privileges that we have as followers of Jesus is to have a personal relationship where we can know Him and be known by Him. A key aspect of growing in our relationship with Jesus is learning more about Him in the Bible. Throughout the Bible, we are told many important things about who Jesus is. Understanding who Jesus is helps us to not only know Him more but also understand how He knows us.

Jesus understands our struggles because He experienced them Himself. After all, Jesus is fully human. Philippians 2:6 tells us that although Jesus is God, He also took on the form and nature of a human. He lived and experienced life just as we did. He knows our pain, struggles, and temptations. Although He experienced temptation, He never sinned. Yet, having been tempted, He understands and sympathizes with us. Hebrews 2:18 tells us that He did all this so that He could be our personal Savior and relate to our struggles of sin and help us during our difficulties.

We have a personal relationship with Jesus because Jesus was a real person on Earth. Jesus knows what it's like to be a human and has compassion for us. When you go in prayer and talk with Jesus, you can have full confidence that He understands what you are going through and knows the struggles of life. Jesus knows you and understands you because He is human.

To explain who Jesus is in this devotional, we want to highlight how Jesus is human, God, Messiah, the Good Shepherd, Healer, the True Vine, and the Way, Truth, and Life.
