Dinner With JesusSýnishorn
The feeling of despair can be one of the most isolating and frustrating experiences we can have. We feel alone. We feel abandoned. We feel like no one can understand, relate, or offer the comfort we need when the whole world feels out of control. It seems like the psalmist knew exactly what despair felt like when he wrote these truths. But in the midst of a “crushed spirit” and being “brokenhearted,” the psalmist offered the comfort of God’s closeness. As awful as despair can feel, knowing we aren’t alone can ease some of the pain. Whatever you might be facing today, remember you aren’t alone in your experience. God is close by. And however close by despair might feel, knowing God is closer in your experience will lessen some of the pain you might be feeling.

About this Plan
Some of our most meaningful memories revolve around sharing a meal. Food has a way of taking an ordinary gathering and making it memorable. That’s why it makes sense that some of Jesus’ most impactful conversations and encounters happened over a shared meal. Let's look at some of the meals Jesus shared with all sorts of different people and see what we might learn for our own time and context.
