What Is the Day of the Lord?Sýnishorn
What will the day of the Lord be like for me?
Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. (Matthew 24:46)
As we come to the end of this plan, it is good to ask: How should Christians respond? How should we view the day of the Lord?
People often approach the day of the Lord and Jesus’ return with questions like: “When will this day happen?”, “What will happen before it?” and “Will it happen in our lifetime?” These questions are certainly worth exploring, but the more important question to ask is: “What will this day be like for me?”
The Bible makes clear that this day will come like a thief in the night for those who live in darkness. They will be unprepared for what will happen to them. But if we are living in the light of Christ and showing His love to the people around us, this day will not surprise us. If we submit to Jesus and confess that He is Lord, it will be a day of unending joy. For the day of His return will be terrible for those who do not love God, but for those who humble themselves before Christ, it will be the day of salvation.
If you therefore believe in Christ and have the desire to live your life for him, you can rejoice in these encouraging words from Revelation 22:20; “He who testifies to these things says: ‘Surely I am coming soon.’ Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!”
